Best Use of Open Source

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".
(thinking…)

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can vote and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can vote on it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

      • Scott Gauvin

        Hurricane Irene Google Map:
The map highlights the social media emergency management twitter sources for the potential landfall locations along the East Coast. As the track of Irene shifted, additional sources were added. The satellite imagery was also superimposed onto the map, enhancing situational awareness. Blue Placemarks are official local links and Red Federal of State governmental links, Green are VOAD links, Yellow are Media or Weather links and Purple are unofficial links. ARC Shelter locations are also listed and denoted by a red cross. Questions or want to add a link to the map http://twitter.com/#!/scottcgauvin. updated 1424 est8-28-11

            • GovClicks.us

GovClicks is a service from Measured Voice that creates daily lists of U.S. government links that have been shortened and shared using 1.USA.gov, a URL shortener created by USA.gov and bitly. It's a great way to see what kinds of government information people around the world are sharing online.

The back end for GovCLicks.us is open source https://github.com/measuredvoice/gogogon

              • Chicago Lobbyists .ORG

ChicagoLobbyists.org is an open data, open government, and open source project intended to improve the transparency of interactions between the City of Chicago and lobbyists and their clients. All data comes from the City of Chicago Data Portal.

This site no only placed a spot light on the money being spent to lobby city officials, but also has turned into a goto location for finding lobbyists for large organizations and companies.
