DistrictBuilder is open source software for web-based, collaborative redistricting. It has been used to support public redistricting efforts in Michigan, Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, Arizona and Indiana, as well as a few cities. It runs on Postgres, PostGIS, Django, GeoServer, OpenLayers and Linux.

Chicago Lobbyists .ORG
ChicagoLobbyists.org is an open data, open government, and open source project intended to improve the transparency of interactions between the City of Chicago and lobbyists and their clients. All data comes from the City of Chicago Data Portal.
This site no only placed a spot light on the money being spent to lobby city officials, but also has turned into a goto location for finding lobbyists for large organizations and companies.

Hurricane Irene Google Map:
The map highlights the social media emergency management twitter sources for the potential landfall locations along the East Coast. As the track of Irene shifted, additional sources were added. The satellite imagery was also superimposed onto the map, enhancing situational awareness. Blue Placemarks are official local links and Red Federal of State governmental links, Green are VOAD links, Yellow are Media or Weather links and Purple are unofficial links. GovClicks is a service from Measured Voice that creates daily lists of U.S. government links that have been shortened and shared using 1.USA.gov, a URL shortener created by USA.gov and bitly. It's a great way to see what kinds of government information people around the world are sharing online.
